Gabriele Maquignaz
Gabriele Maquignaz (Aosta, 1972) is an eclectic artist whose work combines a strong bond with his Alpine homeland and a vision that transcends borders. Fascinated by the spiritual dimension of existence, he draws inspiration from Arte Povera, African and Oceanic traditions, Pop Art, and masters such as Picasso, Giacometti, Matisse, Basquiat, and Schnabel.
Versatile in his practice, Maquignaz explores painting, sculpture, mixed media, and design. In dialogue with Spatialism, he has developed his signature “doors”: elliptical cuts in the canvas that open onto new and transcendent dimensions. His works are part of Italian and international collections, and his atelier at the foot of the Matterhorn offers visitors an immersive artistic experience.
