Serena Maisto
Serena Maisto (1982) is a versatile artist whose work draws on diverse influences. Her journey began with a deep admiration for Jackson Pollock and Abstract Expressionism, which inspired her early canvases where flows of color reveal emotions in motion. Over time, her practice developed into a more personal language, marked by creativity, experimentation, and the use of varied materials and techniques. From painting on canvas to detailed interventions on photography, Maisto constantly reinvents her approach while maintaining a strong emotional core.
In 2017 she launched Time Line: My Walk with Basquiat, a project in which she painted over photographs of the American artist taken by Swiss photographer Edo Bertoglio, merging two artistic visions into a unique dialogue. Today, alongside her independent research, she also works on commissions, creating projects for both private collectors and public spaces.
