Fragments is an exhibition dedicated to Serena Maisto, retracing the main stages of her artistic research through historical works and new productions.
The exhibition brings together key bodies of work, from Beyond Borders and De-Composition to the painted interventions on Edo Bertoglio’s iconic photographs of Jean-Michel Basquiat. Through painting, photography, weaving, and dripping, Maisto develops a visual language rooted in gesture, perception, and identity.
The journey culminates in the recent Fragments series and the new backlit works of Light Fragments, where light becomes an integral part of the artwork, revealing hidden layers, imperfections, and traces within the painted matter. Fragments offers an intimate and layered reading of Maisto’s practice, exploring transformation, memory, and authenticity.
